When people think of employment discrimination, whether based on gender, race, age, sexuality or disability, they usually have a specific picture of what that looks like. They imagine bigoted tirades or inappropriate physical contact, or managers or executives outright declaring their refusal to treat certain kinds of people as equals. Psychological Workplace Bullying and its Effects
Having a boss or supervisor who constantly yells or curses at you is engaging in psychological workplace bullying. The employee who is on the receiving end of this abuse usually does not feel the physical pain as if he or she were assaulted by their boss. But the pain is still real, nonetheless.

How to Overcome Workplace Bullying
Bullying is no longer performed by children at schools and on playgrounds. It has now found itself in the workplace where both the tormentor and its victim are adults. Last year’s survey from the Workplace Bullying Institute found that 27% of those in the workforce have or had direct experience with abusive conduct at work; 72% of the American public are aware of workplace bullying; bosses are still the majority of workplace bullies; and when confronted with the problem, 72% of the employers either deny it exists, encourage it, rationalize it or defend it.
